Saving seed is a great thing to do at the end of the summer, and we have saved enough seed to give away to friends and family, says Katherine Miller
The children and I collected sweet pea pods when they had turned light brown in colour. We dried them in the greenhouse for a week before splitting them open. The flower heads of our lupins and french marigolds were collected and dried in paper bags.
Then we made envelopes from brightly coloured wrapping paper, filled them with seeds and created simple gifts for friends and family.
