Alan Titchmarsh will be making his debut on the West End stage this Christmas in the Royal Opera House's production of Wind in the Willows.

More famous for his performances in the garden, Alan Titchmarsh will be trading grass for boards as he takes up his first theatre role this December. The well-loved children’s classic, produced by the Royal Opera House, will run for eight weeks with Alan playing the role of singing narrator, Wind in the Willows author Kenneth Grahame.

Titchmarsh said, “I am thrilled and delighted to be joining this tremendous production which celebrates my all-time favourite children’s book. I loved the show so much when I saw it that I’m really keen to do it well.”

Wind in the Willows will be playing at the Vaudeville Theatre from November 26 to January 17, 2015.
