Darmuid Gavin has said he would be “mad” to do the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2012 – but he may just be back.
The ITV This Morning gardener won his first gold medal at the Chelsea in May, 16 years after his initial attempt.
Diarmuid said: “I need to recover. I’ve no problem lying about whether I’m doing Chelsea or not. If I say anything, my phone is hot with calls.
“We’re the firm people are interested in, so I will rarely tell the truth.
“Doing Chelsea too often is bad for your health and family. How many years can you have things to say? This year I had no intention of doing it but I had an idea and I couldn’t let it go.
“As soon as my wife said it was silly I knew it was going to be good,” Diarmuid joked.
