ITV has issued a final call to track down families who deserve a garden makeover from Alan Titchmarsh and his Love Your Garden team.

Readers have until 19 December 2014 to nominate “truly deserving people” who they’d like ITV to consider for an on-screen garden transformation.

Love Your Garden makes over plots for families that have suffered tragedy or illness – but have remained upbeat in the face of huge challenges and pressures.

An ITV spokesman told Amateur Gardening: “We’re looking for candidates for our next series – really inspiring people with gardens that desperately need transforming.

“We’re looking for real unsung heroes in the community: people with inspiring stories, and people who would  benefit from a new space from Alan and his team.

“They could be volunteers or carers who have dedicated their lives to others and never asked for anything in return – and people whose gardens have suffered as they helped others.”

Love Your Garden is Britain’s most popular gardening TV series, drawing audiences of up to four million viewers each summer.

It is presented by Alan Titchmarsh, along with landscaper David Domoney and gardening experts Frances Tophill and Katie Rushworth.

To nominate deserving people for a makeover, call 0207 065 6929 no later than 19 December 2014. Readers can also email teamhort@spungoldtv.com.
