Watch what you’re doing with those secateurs – and mind where you’re spraying that weedkiller! A group of gardeners stripped off and bared all for a naked calendar, but it’s all in the name of charity.
The group, called The Grubby Gardeners, met at The Roof Gardens in Kensington for a photoshoot of seasonal poses that’ll make up the Naked Gardeners Calendar.
It’ll be sold at £9.99 in aid of Perennial, the 175 year-old charity that helps gardeners out in times of crisis.
But gardeners need not fear: carefully placed plant pots and shrubbery mean that the pictures are decent for viewing with the family.
Perennial’s Anita Bates said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer this fun, tongue-in-cheek calendar that will make a Christmas stocking filler.”
Gardeners starring in the Naked Gardeners Calendar 2015 include Neil Miller, head gardener at Hever Castle in Kent; Michael Perry, new product development manager at Thompson & Morgan, and Andrew Lane, a gardener at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Wisley garden in Surrey.
In 2013, Perennial helped over 1,200 horticulturists who were in difficulty.
