The Royal Horticultural Society's flagship garden at Wisley in Surrey has witnessed its best display of roses in years.

A good spring of mild days and cool nights, with little frost, provided perfect, stress-free growing conditions for roses.

Wisley curator Colin Crosbie said: “Our rose garden is looking fantastic. It’s a profusion of beautiful colours and scents.

“It follows-on from an amazing blossom display earlier this year, so it is a good year for flowering all round.”
