When I started out in horticulture, I soon realised that carrying a bag with my favourite tools in it, was the best way to garden on other sites. I carried this bag around with me everywhere, and I still do. My trusted bag of tools, plant labels, pens, tape measures and various other bits is always by my side. Last weekend I decided to give it a clean out.
Having a gardening bag ready to go saves me a lot of time walking backwards and forwards to the shed and it means that the chance of me putting down a tool and forgetting where I put it is reduced, (though this sometimes still happens).
If you have a old rucksack that hasn’t much use, make up your own gardening bag, put in the things you use the most and you will be surprised at how much time you save tackling those small garden jobs. Just clean it out more regularly than I do.
